Soccer and Dinner with the Bradys!

This morning started out great, and ended even better! We got up early for Soccer again this morning, and Olivia couldn't have been more excited. I truly think she is evnjoying this far more tha Tball, so we are just gonna go with it! Daddy came again today, but he went out on the field with Olivia and Mommy stayed with Lucas this time. I was itching to get out there and help and have fun, but I just had to watch from the sidelines. She did really great, and learned several new things today. During the scrimmage game at the end, she actually chased the ball a little more and kicked it once or twice. But, she also stayed fairly close to Shane and wanted him to help her out too. She got to be goalie at one point too, which couldn't have been any sweeter, cause she was ready to go with her hands down on her knees and all. The ball didn't get to her much, but it was so sweet nonetheless. Parker had a ball during his scrimmage too, and honestly I don't think he left the ball get any more than about 6 inches from him the entire time! It was hilarious...he was pumped and ready to go!! So, they are loving it, which makes it so much fun to watch!
After soccer, we came home and cleaned house for most of the afternoon. Tim, Shell and the kids came over early in the afternoon, and hung out as we waited for the Brady's to get their too. We were finally able to get some time on the calendar for them to come for dinner, and boy was Olivia excited! Even though Mika wasn't able to come, all the kids had a great time! We had a nice dinner and it was great to catch up! After they left, we got the kids in the bathtub, since we were getting family pictures taken Sunday and then it was time for bed! This dinner was long overdue, and we had a wonderful visit!! It is so nice to have stayed close with Kathy and Brian, even though it's been a while since Olivia was there. I love that they continue to be a part of our family!!!

Dinner at Aunt Jenny's

After our relaxing day at home, we headed over to Jenny and Don's for pizza with Motorcycle Grandpa and Mel. We hadn't seen them for a while, so we decided it was time to get together. Jenny is still off work so she vounteered to have us all at her house for pizza. Olivia had a great time playing with all the toys and we enjoyed everyone's company. It is fun to see Lucas and Carlee together, and see the differences between them. She is so sweet and has been doing great for Aunt Jenny! Tess was a little confused having Lucas there too, cause he kept wanting to take his pacifier out of his mouth, even though he doesn't bother Carlee at all anymore. So, that was funny to watch! We of course got some great pictures, and had a great time!!

Flu Shots!

This morning started off a little rough. I got the kids up and ready and tried to prepare Olivia as much as I could that she was going to get her flu shot today. She seemed brave and kept saying she wanted to go first so she could show Lucas how easy it was and how brave she could be. So, that was the game plan. We got there and of course had to wait for a little while, which is never a good thing for a four and 6 monh old. Nevertheless, we made it in there and the nurse was fabulous. We saw Dr. Baety for Lucas's 6 month checkup and he said all was well...perfect and boring, in fact. He weighed 17 pounds, 6 ounces and was 27 inches long! He was right in the middle of the pack for his height, weight and head measurement. So, he is doing well. It has been about two weeks now that he has been having formula, as well as breast milk, and is doing wonderful. It doesn't even phase him at all, so that couldn't have gone better! The only other thing I had him check out was his dry skin. He had patches of dry skin on his belly, back and arms which Dr. Baety said was just that and to put Eucerin on it twice a day. So, that we will do.
Olivia was up next with her shots, and it was funny cause I asked Dr. Baety if he wanted to sit in there while they got them and I would go outside in the hallway...he just laughed and said I don't think so. I mentioned it to the nurse that I asked him, and she said of course not, he doesn't do any of the hard work, he's a big weinie....which Olivia got a big kick out of! Then, I sat her up on the table, pulled he pants down and she instantly grabbed my hands. Of course she wanted to stare right at the needle and see when she was going to do it. I tried to get her to look away cause she started getting a little nervous, but then she did it, it was over just like that, and Olivia never said a word. She did great!! I was surprised that she opted for the shot rather than the spray mist stuff, but she hates to put that stuff in her nose. So, there you have it then, she was done and it was Lucas's turn. He, on the other hand, had to get four shots. We layed him on the table and she stuck him once, and it was instant scream and tears. The nurse as fabulous though and stuck him twice in each leg....very quickly...and I was able to scoophim up right away. I had given them some tylenol before we left so I think that started to kick in, cause he layed his head on my shoulder and was out before I even got him in his carseat! Stickers for everyone and we were out the door!
Lucas slept for about two hours when we got home, and was exhausted! You couldn't even tell Olivia got her shot, and was doing just fine!!! So, another successful day at the doctor's office!!

Olivia - Star of the Week!

Today ended Olivia's special week at school. She had such a great time this week at school, and I think it is a wonderful idea for the school! Each child has one special week during the school year in which they are designated the Star of the Week! This week was Olivia's, which consisted of several fun things throughout the week. First, we started Monday with taking pictures of her family which were displayed in the classroom all week. She got to tell her class wh was in the pictures and she was so proud! She couldn't wait to tell them all about her Mommy, Daddy and little brother Lucas. And, she also got to take a Show and Tell item each day this week. So, she wanted to take her new favorite book, If You Find a Rock, that she got from Nana and PaPa, then her Nintendo DS and her Fur Real pet kitty. So, she got to show all her friends her favorite things! We also got to take snacks for the class during the week if we wanted, and of course she wanted to....so did Mommy. So, one day we took ice cream sandwiches and another day we took Oreo cakesters! I got notes home in her folder that the kids (and adults) loved them!!!
She also got to choose a new job each day, and what she told me she wanted to do every day was shapes and colors?? I am still a little confused about what that means, but she was excited about it, so that is all that matters! She was also allowed to bring home a Franklin book and stuffed animal for the week, which basically stayed near her backpack cause she wasn't too interested. But that was okay cause I didn't want to forget it come Monday!

Lastly, she brought home a book she made for the week, which is priceless. The contents include:

Front cover - Star of the Week in which she colored extremely well!

Picture of herself that she drew - stick figure and sooo sweet!

Her story - where she lives, birthdate, how tall she is, etc.

Fun Facts - She wants to be a teacher when she grows up, she is really good at coloring, her hobbies are playing with her glittery bouncy ball, coloring and playing with Mommy, Daddy and Lucas.

Family - Her Mommy likes to play madagascar game with her and her Daddy likes to sleep. Her brother likes to pull her hair (all of which happened this week, so very relevant)!

Likes - the color blue, chicken and rice (which she ate for lunch that day) and her new book, If You Find a Rock.

Dislikes - Turning off the TV, Tomatoes and Onions

It is the sweetest thing ever and something to charish!! :-)

One Month Old!!!!!

Here are some random pictures and many updates of Lucas at his one month birthday! He is getting bigger by the second and I cannot believe how much he has changed in just one month. People always tell you that time flies, but you really don't understand until you see your own kids growing up. Needless to say, Lucas is no exception. He is getting stronger too and already starting to hold his head up! Nursing has really started to get much better and I no longer want to throw him across the room every time he eats, so that is a wonderful thing. At his last one month checkup, he weighed 9 lbs. 2 oz, so is right on track. He is in the middle of the road as far as his height and weight too, so no worries or concerns at the doctor. He has started to smile more and coo at you when you smile at him, which is so sweet to see. That is one of the best things in the world is to see a baby smile! He loves his bath time, just like Olivia did when she was a baby. As soon as I put him in the water, he just gives me a big grin and smiles the entire time. I love it that he doesn't put up a fight and will stay for as long as I need him to. We are still doing baths at the kitchen sink in his little bath...much easier to have him at the counter level and me standing, rather than bending over the tub! I will try to do this as long as I can....and as long as he fits in his little baby bath! He also loves to be outside and take walks. We are trying to do more of it and get him outside cause he just loves to look around and be in the fresh air...not too hot yet, so that may change! Olivia is still doing fabulous with him, and gives him love every time she walks into the room. We truly have not seen any signs of jealousy after the first month, so we are hoping that continues. Every chance she can get, she wants to hold him and give him kisses and hugs!! He is still not pooping regularly, but the doctor doesn't seemed too concerned, so neither are we. Hopefully that will work itself out! We are enjoying him so much and I am definitely not going to want to go back to work! I am really taking advantage of this time off, and watching him grow right before my eyes!!

Pool Day...Daddy home early!

Lucas and Winston had to relax in the shade rather than get in the pool!

Olivia on the other hand, was all about the pool!

So was Daddy!

Sweet boy!

We had a nice surprise from Daddy today...he got home early, so we took advantage of the nice weather and jumped in the pool!

Relaxing Day at Aunt Shell's

Why so surprised little man!?

After such a busy day yesterday, we didn't really want to do much today...although it doesn't stop us from getting together! After all, we are off for the summer! But, it was low key at Aunt Shell's today!!

Play Day!!

Kaleigh, Parker, Emma and Olivia....bestest friends!

They could not get enough of this wall!!

One of the many features at the museum...so much fun and interesting for the kids!

Lego display....soo cool!

You couldn't see it clearly, but the head was not attached to the neck.

One of my favorites!

Today started out a little strange, cause the power went out first thing this morning! I was a little unsure what I would do to get ready, cause we had a play day lined up and we needed to do something. Not to mention, I had a whole lot of breast milk stored in the freezer that I did not want to lose. So, we headed to gma and gpa's house to help out! We got ready over there and killed two birds with one stone, cause gma and gpa got to visit the kids while we were there.

After getting ready, we met Aunt Shell, Tara and all the kids and went to McDonalds for lunch and to play for a little bit. Then, we headed to the Lakeview Museum to see the Lego display, which was really neat. Of course, the kids loved the wall where they could push their hands through to the other side (don't quite know what it is called), but they could have stayed there all day. Aunt Shell, Tara and I enjoyed the lego display more than anyone. But, there were all kinds of things the kids were able to see, touch, and do and they had a great time.

After the museum, we seemed to leave just in time cause the kids were getting a little restless. So, we decided to go back to McDonald's for some ice cream and more playing. After that, the kids were definitely getting tired and ready to go. Olivia managed to talk Aunt Shell into letting her spend the night, so she went home with them, which was nice. Shane and I were able to spend some quality time with Lucas, and to catch up on some sleep at least. What a great day! I love being off in the summer!!!

Bye Bye Uncle Scott and Mathus!!

Whose ready to go swimming??? Meeeeeeeee!!

Olivia and Parker didn't venture too far from the side at first, but then they got used to it!!

Kaleigh was doing great going under the water!!

Parker was having a ball in the ring!

Olivia had double protection with the life jacket/suit and the ring!!

Kaleigh had to try out the rafts!

Ahhh, this is the life!

All ready to go!!

Sweet Lucas had to sit on the sidelines, but had fun nonetheless!

Today was a sad day because we had to say goodbye to Uncle Scott and Mathus! It was so great to see them, and we were so excited they were able to come home for the retirement party and to meet Lucas!! Even though their flight was pretty early in the morning, I managed to get myself and both kids up and to the airport to see them off! I was so glad I did, cause I would have felt horrible to not see them one last time!! So, we all gave big hugs and off they went!

After we got done at the airport, we came back home and went swimming for the first time in the new pool! It was so much fun! The kids have been so patient as we were getting it ready, so today was the day! They had a ball playing with all of the toys and managed to spend just as much time on the deck playing in the water, than they did in the pool itself! So much fun....we are really going to enjoy having our very own pool!!!

A trip to the ER!

So, today started off a little shaky and seemed to get worse as the day went on. Uncle Scott had gone to a Cardinals game in St. Louis with grandpa and great gpa, so we were on our own today. Shane got up this morning and indicated he felt dizzy off and on all morning, which scared us a little bit since he got hit pretty hard with the golf ball. He wasn't sure what he should do, so he contacted the doctor's office to get their opinion. They said it didn't sound like it was too bad, but if he didn't start to feel better by the afternoon, we should call back. So, he layed in bed most of the morning and it didn't seem to be getting better. Every time he got up, he felt dizzy and had to sit back down. So, he called them back and the instructed him to go to the promt care, which we did. And, after about five minutes of checking him out, they instructed us to go to the ER to have more tests done. So, off we went...all four of us! I had thought about calling to have someone watch the kids, but then decided against it...which ended up to be just fine cause Dina came up to the hospital with us, so she helped to keep them occupied. We were at the ER for over three hours, which was way too long for what they actually did...run some tests, and do a head scan to make sure there was no internal damage. After the results came back, we were thankful that all was well, and there was no major damage to his bone structure or to the brain itself. They indicated it was vertigo, so thankfully they sent us on our way with good news!! Now, it was just going to have to heal on its own, and they gave him some medicine for the dizziness. So, what could have been a lot worse, seemed to be minor...simply more embarrassing for Shane to have to relive the story to all the doctors and nurses!! :-) He will never live this one down!!

Happy Birthday Fish Fry!!

Today was Scott's birthday, which was another reason he was in town this weekend! So, we had planned the traditional Davis family fish fry and Gma and Gpa's. It was fairly hot today, but that didn't stop the kids from heading to the playground at Oak Grove, which was right down the street. And, there were bubbles and the ice cream truck even made a stop at the house. So, the kids were on cloud nine!!
After the fish fry, we met back at Nana and Paw Paw's...without the kids...to go have some dinner. Daddy and Uncle Tim took the kids back to our house, so we could enjoy a nice dinner without having to worry about the kiddos, which was extremely nice. We were able to visit with Scott and Mathus and have a nice relaxing night. So, all in all, it was a great day!! All the pictures are listed below.

Lucas Allen and the rest of the kiddos!
