Soccer and Dinner with the Bradys!

This morning started out great, and ended even better! We got up early for Soccer again this morning, and Olivia couldn't have been more excited. I truly think she is evnjoying this far more tha Tball, so we are just gonna go with it! Daddy came again today, but he went out on the field with Olivia and Mommy stayed with Lucas this time. I was itching to get out there and help and have fun, but I just had to watch from the sidelines. She did really great, and learned several new things today. During the scrimmage game at the end, she actually chased the ball a little more and kicked it once or twice. But, she also stayed fairly close to Shane and wanted him to help her out too. She got to be goalie at one point too, which couldn't have been any sweeter, cause she was ready to go with her hands down on her knees and all. The ball didn't get to her much, but it was so sweet nonetheless. Parker had a ball during his scrimmage too, and honestly I don't think he left the ball get any more than about 6 inches from him the entire time! It was hilarious...he was pumped and ready to go!! So, they are loving it, which makes it so much fun to watch!
After soccer, we came home and cleaned house for most of the afternoon. Tim, Shell and the kids came over early in the afternoon, and hung out as we waited for the Brady's to get their too. We were finally able to get some time on the calendar for them to come for dinner, and boy was Olivia excited! Even though Mika wasn't able to come, all the kids had a great time! We had a nice dinner and it was great to catch up! After they left, we got the kids in the bathtub, since we were getting family pictures taken Sunday and then it was time for bed! This dinner was long overdue, and we had a wonderful visit!! It is so nice to have stayed close with Kathy and Brian, even though it's been a while since Olivia was there. I love that they continue to be a part of our family!!!

Dinner at Aunt Jenny's

After our relaxing day at home, we headed over to Jenny and Don's for pizza with Motorcycle Grandpa and Mel. We hadn't seen them for a while, so we decided it was time to get together. Jenny is still off work so she vounteered to have us all at her house for pizza. Olivia had a great time playing with all the toys and we enjoyed everyone's company. It is fun to see Lucas and Carlee together, and see the differences between them. She is so sweet and has been doing great for Aunt Jenny! Tess was a little confused having Lucas there too, cause he kept wanting to take his pacifier out of his mouth, even though he doesn't bother Carlee at all anymore. So, that was funny to watch! We of course got some great pictures, and had a great time!!

Flu Shots!

This morning started off a little rough. I got the kids up and ready and tried to prepare Olivia as much as I could that she was going to get her flu shot today. She seemed brave and kept saying she wanted to go first so she could show Lucas how easy it was and how brave she could be. So, that was the game plan. We got there and of course had to wait for a little while, which is never a good thing for a four and 6 monh old. Nevertheless, we made it in there and the nurse was fabulous. We saw Dr. Baety for Lucas's 6 month checkup and he said all was well...perfect and boring, in fact. He weighed 17 pounds, 6 ounces and was 27 inches long! He was right in the middle of the pack for his height, weight and head measurement. So, he is doing well. It has been about two weeks now that he has been having formula, as well as breast milk, and is doing wonderful. It doesn't even phase him at all, so that couldn't have gone better! The only other thing I had him check out was his dry skin. He had patches of dry skin on his belly, back and arms which Dr. Baety said was just that and to put Eucerin on it twice a day. So, that we will do.
Olivia was up next with her shots, and it was funny cause I asked Dr. Baety if he wanted to sit in there while they got them and I would go outside in the hallway...he just laughed and said I don't think so. I mentioned it to the nurse that I asked him, and she said of course not, he doesn't do any of the hard work, he's a big weinie....which Olivia got a big kick out of! Then, I sat her up on the table, pulled he pants down and she instantly grabbed my hands. Of course she wanted to stare right at the needle and see when she was going to do it. I tried to get her to look away cause she started getting a little nervous, but then she did it, it was over just like that, and Olivia never said a word. She did great!! I was surprised that she opted for the shot rather than the spray mist stuff, but she hates to put that stuff in her nose. So, there you have it then, she was done and it was Lucas's turn. He, on the other hand, had to get four shots. We layed him on the table and she stuck him once, and it was instant scream and tears. The nurse as fabulous though and stuck him twice in each leg....very quickly...and I was able to scoophim up right away. I had given them some tylenol before we left so I think that started to kick in, cause he layed his head on my shoulder and was out before I even got him in his carseat! Stickers for everyone and we were out the door!
Lucas slept for about two hours when we got home, and was exhausted! You couldn't even tell Olivia got her shot, and was doing just fine!!! So, another successful day at the doctor's office!!

Olivia - Star of the Week!

Today ended Olivia's special week at school. She had such a great time this week at school, and I think it is a wonderful idea for the school! Each child has one special week during the school year in which they are designated the Star of the Week! This week was Olivia's, which consisted of several fun things throughout the week. First, we started Monday with taking pictures of her family which were displayed in the classroom all week. She got to tell her class wh was in the pictures and she was so proud! She couldn't wait to tell them all about her Mommy, Daddy and little brother Lucas. And, she also got to take a Show and Tell item each day this week. So, she wanted to take her new favorite book, If You Find a Rock, that she got from Nana and PaPa, then her Nintendo DS and her Fur Real pet kitty. So, she got to show all her friends her favorite things! We also got to take snacks for the class during the week if we wanted, and of course she wanted to....so did Mommy. So, one day we took ice cream sandwiches and another day we took Oreo cakesters! I got notes home in her folder that the kids (and adults) loved them!!!
She also got to choose a new job each day, and what she told me she wanted to do every day was shapes and colors?? I am still a little confused about what that means, but she was excited about it, so that is all that matters! She was also allowed to bring home a Franklin book and stuffed animal for the week, which basically stayed near her backpack cause she wasn't too interested. But that was okay cause I didn't want to forget it come Monday!

Lastly, she brought home a book she made for the week, which is priceless. The contents include:

Front cover - Star of the Week in which she colored extremely well!

Picture of herself that she drew - stick figure and sooo sweet!

Her story - where she lives, birthdate, how tall she is, etc.

Fun Facts - She wants to be a teacher when she grows up, she is really good at coloring, her hobbies are playing with her glittery bouncy ball, coloring and playing with Mommy, Daddy and Lucas.

Family - Her Mommy likes to play madagascar game with her and her Daddy likes to sleep. Her brother likes to pull her hair (all of which happened this week, so very relevant)!

Likes - the color blue, chicken and rice (which she ate for lunch that day) and her new book, If You Find a Rock.

Dislikes - Turning off the TV, Tomatoes and Onions

It is the sweetest thing ever and something to charish!! :-)
